The Problem With Lean Startup... And Solution To Its Fatal Flaw

This article discusses the flaws of the Lean Startup approach, which proposes starting small and building iteratively to solve the challenges of uncertainty and complexity in the creation of new products with new business models. However, the author argues that businesses are complex systems and need to be designed as a whole to fulfill the three functions of value creation, exchange, and capture. This approach is called Integrated Venture Engineering (IVE), which uses a Business Architecture Plan to define the minimum business system specifications, simulate and evolve them, and physically build and calibrate the Minimum Viable Business System. IVE is a rigorous systems engineering approach to innovating and designing Minimum Viable Business systems that work around critical constraints and ensure the underlying pattern of the business architecture is aligned.
