Every good innovation effort beyond the merely incremental should start by defining a dream or vision. While at some point a plan will be developed to outline the necessary resources and effort to accomplish the vision, no one signs up to a plan. People are engaged in difficult work due to an overriding dream or vision that has the ability to communicate not just the end state but the benefits individuals will receive due to the end state.
