ISO 56002 - A Global Guide For Innovation Management

ISO has established the first global standard for innovation management - ISO 56002, which is a guideline and structure provider for enhancing innovation management systems in organizations. The standard serves as a common language and standard for continuous improvement of innovation management systems, including core components such as internal and external context, cultural and collaborative aspects, management roles, workflows, objectives, and the innovation process. ISO 56002 is aimed at all established organizations, regardless of their industry or size and focuses on sustainable success through innovation activities. The standard can be used as a tool for the verification and validation of innovation projects and services, but it remains a voluntary guidance. ISO is currently working on further standards related to innovation management, and to implement the new standard it is recommended to consult experienced innovation management experts.
