The Future of Self-Driving Cars

Self-driving cars -- or fully autonomous vehicles -- are causing a great deal of excitement across many industries, as the technology behind these vehicles becomes progressively more sophisticated. The implications for urban transportation are huge; the idea of being able to navigate from Point A to Point B without human intervention could vastly increase mobility, eliminate parking as we know it, and drastically reduce traffic congestion - not to mention save countless lives. A brainstorming session led by Innovation Cloud asked 20 experts to weigh in on what the future of self-driving cars might look like. Responses included health assistance and social inclusion, reduction of unnecessary parking spaces and cost, faster and smoother delivery systems, customizable ride options, detection of health issues, and more.
